We are proud to see Tasmania's creative vibrancy, placemaking, education and a new contemporary chapter of our cultural expression celebrated on the international stage.
The Hedberg reimagines the purpose of a creative and cultural precinct from a series of isolated spaces towards a more interconnected spatial experience that facilitates formal and informal cultural activation, where professionals rub shoulders with students and the community. It redefines the cultural and creative model to showcase the creative capacity of Hobart to the world and to co-locate a broad variety of education, production, presentation and public cultural and creative activities. It presents, a festival in a building.
The success of the project is testimony to a truly collaborative process.
Designed by LIMINAL Architecture with WOHA, The Hedberg was delivered through a unique partnership between the University of Tasmania, the Tasmanian and Australian Governments and the Theatre Royal.
